I Did a Thing in Indy…

I love to travel and we know I prefer to leave the US when I do it. But I had an opportunity that took me to Indianapolis and it was life changing!

Meet my tribe and new family. I have “met” these ladies in challenge groups on Facebook and honestly felt like I already knew them. Challenge groups on Facebook? What am I talking about? Let me back up for a second.

My name is Jenna and I am an avid traveler and a Beachbody coach. Okay you know my name is Jenna but all you know about me is that I love to travel. I also love to workout and help people achieve their goals. This all came to a complete ah-ha moment when I attended the 2018 Beachbody Coach Summit in Indianapolis!Imagine deplaning at an airport and seeing that the entire thing has been taken over for the summit you are attending! An entire city prepared to welcome 20,000 people from around the world (US, Canada and UK).

Beachbody is a company that provides fitness programs as well as nutrition and products and so many other things. More than anything, it is a place where total strangers can become a family and work to achieve fitness goals and so much more! This is where the challenge groups come into play and you meet people doing the same thing as you.

We went on a team outing to explore Indy and spend some time not focused on fitness. Did you know you could go on a canal ride and have a singer? It was a great way to spend some time with the team and relax.

Okay, okay, so what did I really do for a few days? I got my ass kicked by some super trainers! I absolutely love working out with Shaun T. and I went to summit to workout with him live. It was an hour of kick ass working out with thousands of people pushing myself to the limit. At the end, I cried. It was an internal struggle as much as a physical one and as soon as it was over, I wanted to do it again. If you have never done a Shaun T workout, I suggest you sign up and try a workout immediately! Insanity, Insanity Max 30, Hip Hop Abs, T25, Cize and so much more! The options of fun are endless!!!

I don’t just workout with Shaun T and there are tons of other trainers to workout with. I was lucky enough to meet Joel Freeman who is releasing a new program July 16th. I have been doing a preview of the workout and LOVE it. It doesn’t hurt that this is the face that will be looking at you during the workout. šŸ™‚

Now let me tell you about Saturday. Saturday morning my alarm went off at 5am because me and 20,000 other people were about to take over the streets and workout with the supertrainers. 6am rolled around and we worked out. We worked out hard. We squatted and lunged and squatted some more and jumped and pulsed and sweat it all out. It was such an amazing experience and I am doing it again next July!

I can’t explain to you the feelings I had over these few days. I can’t explain to you the emotions. I can’t explain to you the pure happiness and new family I have. You can join me and see what it’s all about!

My Unplanned Stop in Aveiro

The number one best thing about traveling is meeting new people. My new friend Danielle had heard about this little town called Aveiro from someone working at the hostel. This just happens to be on the way to Porto and so I left Lisbon a day early and planned to arrive in Porto a day late to visit this place.

No train ride is complete without some entertainment and refreshments. We had a book and an adult coloring book for the 3 hour train ride from Lisbon to Aveiro. What else does one need?

Aveiro is a very small place and the main area is walkable within about 15 minutes so there actually isn’t that much to do. The view from the hostel was these adorable little houses full of tiled detail. Basically, when I think of Portugal this is what I think of.

Aveiro is said to be the Venice of Portugal so naturally we had to go on a boat tour and see what the city was all about. We specifically asked for a tour in English and somehow ended up on a tour in Spanish. I learned that this quaint little town is known for fishing and salt and is actually a huge port town.

I always find it interesting to learn about a place that is so important to a a certain part of the world that I had no idea about.

The tiles on the houses all have different details. The blue tile is a very common theme throughout all of Portugal and it just so happened that my headband matched the pattern. I have to have a little fun while I’m traveling right?

Since the town is quite small, we took a day trip to a beach town about 20 minutes outside of town call Costa Nova. The houses are all painted with individual stripes because it was said that the supply of paint was so limited that each plank was painted a different color just in case.

The beach was incredibly windy but we found a little cove to relax in and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. This entire little place can be done as a day trip from Porto but I was very happy to spend the night and enjoy this area and I think it is a must see!
