Working while traveling makes for a completely different travel experience. For the next 6 weeks, I will be volunteering at The Yellow for 35 hours a week. In return, I receive breakfast, lunch, dinner, a bed and laundry. I found this all through Go Eco which has some amazing opportunities.
I haven’t done much exploring around Rome yet, but plan to take full advantage of my days off. I was taken to this great little restaurant called La Carbonara for a delicious dinner of pasta and prosciutto. The atmosphere was fun and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious!!!
As we were walking back to the hostel, a gentleman in a car whistled and hollered at us from his car. We brushed it off like it was no big deal but he thought it was a bit of game. As we turned the corner he followed. We would zigzag away and he would come our way. Finally, we outsmarted him to the point he was unable to turn his car around and ran back to the hostel. This is just another reason that you never walk alone at night…anywhere!
