Reason number 281 why I love Southwest

I love the idea of having a plan and sticking to it, but when it comes to travel that does not always happen. I received a text from Southwest notifying me that my 8:15pm flight was delayed until 9:00pm. I was a little sad but there is nothing you can do about it and I was glad for the advance notice. About 30 minutes later I received another text that the flight was now delayed until 10:10pm. This was not acceptable considering I am only taking a hour flight. This is where Southwest shines.

Southwest has a policy that if a flight is more than a hour delayed, you can catch another flight and protect the fare you paid. I paid $2.50 for my flight since I used my points and I know for a fact all the other flights were more expensive (points or dollars) which is why I had the later flight. Within 5 minutes of my call with customer service I was booked on the 11:30am flight and had a new confirmation in my email.

Easy and efficient. Thank you Southwest for making my travel so easy!
