And we are off!

Most people who start off a backpacking tour start with a cheap flight and some pretty crappy accommodations. I am lucky enough to start off this trip with my parents with a business class seat and luxurious accommodations.

In order to get the flight we wanted, we had to fly to Dallas for a night and stay over. I called in a favor and we stayed at the beautiful Four Seasons Dallas. The weather was hot and humid but that didn’t stop us from venturing out with my friend from college to try a new restaurant called LUCK Dallas. LUCK Dallas is just over the Margaret Hunt Hull Bridge built as part of the Trinity River project.

Now I am sitting in the club lounge at the airport waiting to start my adventure. I have to appreciated these moments before I get to the down and dirt part of backpacking Europe!

    Hi Jenna,

By now you guys are in London, dealing with jet lag, I’m sure. I hope you enjoyed your Business class flight to Heathrow, it makes you feel special, doesn’t it? How is Peter feeling? Tell your Mom and Peter I say hello.

I do a blog when I travel, so I know how much time and effort it takes. I also know that I LOVE IT when my friends and family not only read the blog but respond. I appreciate the links you put in about the LUCK Dallas restaurant, it looked neat. Also that Margaret Hunt Hull bridge looks awesome. I never saw “Despicable Me” but your Minion is fun. This is what their web site said about them

“Minions are small, yellow, cylindrical, creatures who have one or two eyes. They are impulsive creatures with little self-control, but with a wide-eyed wonder and odd innocence that endears them to viewers and makes them relatable. They can be pesky when they are doing weird interactions with other people, animals, or objects. Minions have standard English names”……..interesting. What meaning does it have for you?

Have fun, enjoy and please drink a warm dark beer for me! Take care

Hi Howard -My Minion is named Pinot because of the way they speak I think its a good name for him. He doesn’t really have a ton of meaning to me except that I love minions and think they are fun. I will pass on your hellos and I am delighted you are following my blog. Much more to come!
