Self guided walking tour of Prague

I lost my Fitbit somewhere between Rome and Split and really wish I had it for the day I had walking around Prague. It all started with a mission to the post office (open basically 24 hours a day) to mail post cards I have had since Germany (May)! After that it was a walk to hunt for the John Lennon wall. We thought the wall was somewhere on the water and wandered around aimlessly for a bit of time. Turns out, the wall is inland and nowhere near where we thought. If I were more of a Beatles fan, I’m sure this wall would have been a bit more awe inspiring . But, I love cool graffiti, so of course I was able to find something I liked.

Next stop, Prague Castle. Apparently this is the largest ancient castle in the world! We walked up the hill and entered the grounds of the castle. It was great to walk around and look at the Gothic architecture but we didn’t feel the need to go inside. I felt the castle looked a lot like Notre Dame which would make since due to the architectural style. We walked around the grounds and then headed for the next destination.

Once again, it is all about the beer in the Czech Republic. We ventured up a bit of a mountain through a park to get the the Letna Beer Garden that overlooked the city. We grabbed a beer and a kebab and watched the beginning of a very intimate wedding ceremony that was taking place.

Although I love the goulash and delicious Czech food, I had a craving for Korean food since I had spotted a restaurant across from my hostel. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
