A childhood dream realized

I’m in Greece! Greece! I keep saying it to myself and I cannot believe it. Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to travel to Greece and Egypt. Egypt will have to wait for another trip (as of now). When people ask me, “how are you?” I often reply with “living the dream.” The thing is, I am not being sarcastic at all. I am literally living my dream.

This quick trip of Greece will take me through Santorini, Ios and Athens. I am sure I will have to come back and do the other islands and even repeat some of the ones that I have already done. One of the main attractions of Santorini is the sunset in Oia. We rented ATVs for 24 hours and started our mini trek around the island. It was a blistering hot day, but a great way to see the island. A stop at a beach for some token beach pictures was followed by dinner and a beautiful sunset. I will let the pictures do all the talking for this destination.

Of course the day could not be absolutely perfect. On the way back to the hostel, one of the ATVs broke down on the side of the road. We had to call for a tow from the company but they were nice enough to just bring a new ATV and tow the other one back. We ended up stuck on the side of the road with a gorgeous view of a red moon cascading it’s light down on the ocean. I tried to capture the beauty in a picture, but my iPhone camera just does not have the necessary lens. 🙂

I only had time for Santorini and Ios. I will absolutely have to go back and do a month of island hopping. Here is hoping I have that chance!

    Hi Jenna,

I too love Greece. During my journeys I lived and worked on the island of Hydra. I did a bit of partying on Corfu but like you have stated I would v dry much like to return to Greece and visit more island.

    Enjoy!
